Wassailing - Crook Morris

Come along and join in with Crook Morris at their 11th Wassail Day
Saturday 11th January 2019.  
The Wassailing ceremony happens in the damson orchard at The Row LA8 8DD.  
Note limited parking.
Park near, but not at, The Lyth Valley Hotel LA8 8DB on the A5074 by 12:45 latest.
A public footpath across from the hotel takes you to The Row, (boots or wellies advisable), and after a short walk we arrive at The Barn, home of Mrs Pat Walker for 1:15pm prompt.  
We gather outside the damson orchard, for the start of the ceremony at 1:30pm.  
Making as much noise as possible we then go to our damson tree.  
After singing we pass around the damson beer, eat wassail cake, dunk pieces of toast in the beer and hang them on the branches.  
Weather permitting, we dance and then make our way to the Derby Arms at Witherslack LA11 6RH for about 3:00pm.
There is dancing, singing, music sessions and a Mummers Play, continuing through to late at night.  
All welcome for a great day out, and there is ample parking at The Derby Arms.
